Task 10 - Distribution

Film distribution is the process of making a movie available for viewing by an audience. When a film is initially produced, a feature film is often shown to audiences in a movie theater.film distributor is responsible for the marketing of a film. The distribution company is usually different from the production company. Distribution deals are an important part of financing a film.A customized strategy can help you maximize audience, revenues, impact, and career. This strategy should be designed based on the goals of the film, the film's content, its core audiences, and the opportunities in key methods of distribution.Simultaneous release is the name given to an experimental new method of making movies available to consumers. Examples of Distribution companies : 20th Century Fox, Pathe, Walt Disney. Release date is crucial for films because it can determine how successful/unsuccessful a film can be. For example by releasing a movie in the school summer holidays, the probability of it becoming popular is higher due to the children and their parents wanting to spend a day at the cinema. Self distribution is when an independent film company who does not have a big named director or distributing company has to get their films known to the public. This can be done via sites such as Netflix or Amazon Prime.
